New to yoga, or worried it might hurt? Here are honest answers to the questions people ask most. Still unsure? Call 305-697-8162 or email support@1yogawellness.com.
Yes, it is designed for exactly that. Every session is adapted to your body and how you feel that day. We start with small, supported movements and gentle breathing, often seated, and only progress when your body is ready. If you have a specific diagnosis, recent surgery, or injury, we'll talk about it during your free consultation, and we encourage you to check with your doctor before starting.
Absolutely. No experience is needed, and you never have to get on the floor. Most people begin seated in a chair or standing with support, like a wall or the back of a chair. Many of my students practice entirely in a chair and still feel real changes in comfort and mobility.
No. This program is complementary to your medical care, not a replacement for it. Please keep seeing your doctor, physical therapist, and other providers, and follow their guidance. Many students find that gentle yoga and breathwork fit well alongside their treatment, and I'm happy to work within any limits your providers give you.
Then we stop, adjust, or try something different. You are always in charge of how far you go. Our rule is to activate, never aggravate: a mild, comfortable stretch is fine, but sharp, shooting, or increasing pain is a signal to ease off. We go at your pace, and there is always a gentler option. If pain persists after a session, let me know and check in with your doctor.
Yes, many of my students come to me after years of doctors, medication, injections, or physical therapy. I can't promise a specific result, but I can offer a patient, whole-person approach that combines gentle movement, breathwork, and relaxation, adapted to you. Sometimes a slower, kinder approach is what finally helps the body respond.
It's a relaxed phone call with no pressure and no obligation. We'll talk about your pain, your history, what you've already tried, and what you'd like to get back to doing. Then I'll tell you honestly whether I think this program is a good fit and suggest a gentle place to start.
Not at all. You don't need to be flexible to start; flexibility is something that grows gently with practice. Many of my students are in their 60s, 70s, and 80s. We work with the body you have today, at your own pace, and celebrate small improvements in comfort, balance, and ease of movement.
